Life Groups

If you are looking to experience spiritual growth and relationship, then the best way to do so is through Life Groups. Life Groups are an intentional gathering of people learning to love one another and how to become more like Jesus. Each Life Group is a specific and practical expression of our identity, vision, and values. Because of this, Life Groups are a great place to enter into the weekly life of Twenty Six Eight.

Every four months (a Triad), we introduce new Life Groups focused on a variety of areas and also continue some of the existing Life Groups. Certain Life Groups are only four months long and then end. Some can go as long as a year or more.

The purpose and vision of each Life Group is different but they can be summarized in the following ways.

  • Relationship: some Life Groups are dedicated primarily to building relationships with others in Twenty Six Eight.
  • Care and Growth: some Life Groups are focused on ministering to the spiritual, relational, and practical needs of those who attend as well as helping them grow in an encouraging environment.
  • Teaching: some Life Groups are intended to teach (by example, instruction, and experience) people how to embrace a particular aspect of Jesus’ character and commands to us.
  • Transformation: some Life Groups intentionally bring people into relationships and experiences that cultivate high levels of interaction, accountability, and vulnerability. Often, these Life Groups will tackle issues of spiritual transformation and what keeps us from it.
  • Leadership: a few Life Groups are designed to help those who believe God would have them influence others grow into Christ-like leaders.

The size of Life Groups can vary, ranging from three or four people to twelve or fifteen. Every Life Group has a leader who has been equipped to lead through Twenty Six Eight and is in an accountable relationship with the pastoral staff of the congregation.
